Not that it just started with the remasters/remakes fad, EA has been reselling the same games yearly for 15 years now. They are killing the industry with this crap. The truly ironic part is that the people who made the original recently released a completely new IP, The Calisto Protocol, which borrowed heavily from Dead Space and is inferior in almost every way to what Motive has brought us with this remake. It's a game made by fans of the original for fans of the original. The story has been tweaked in a way that gives a bit more backstory to Isaac (he also talks which I'm still on the fence about being a good or bad thing). They took out one of the worst sequences in the game and replaced it with something that's actually pretty damned cool. I replayed the OG Dead Space right before buying the remake and it's a much, much different experience. But hey, it's your money. It's significantly more than a "slight graphical update." They rebuilt the entire engine from the ground up. It blows my mind that people pay 60 bucks for a slight graphical upgrade. In fact when people do those "those sign has changed" images comparing the old and the new game they look almost identical graphics-wise. I can't see a reason to buy that remake, the original is still perfectly playable and still looks good.
